Travelling by car from South Africa to Swaziland
The most scenic drive into Swaziland is over the Saddleback Pass from Barberton to Bulembu Gate. The rocky dirt road, however is not very good, and those without 4 Wheeled Drive vehicles will have a slow trip.
The tarred route through Kwa Zulu-natal to Mhamba is also beautiful.
Oshoek is the busiest border post since it is the central point for most visitors from South Africa. There is a crossing fee (tax) of E15.00 for hire cars passing through the border. Non hire cars are E5.00.
Drivers must have a valid driving licence and be 24 years of age or older.
Mbabane is a city which is built up amidst the highveld mountains with the best of both worlds. It has the energy of a commercial metropolis with the security of a country dwelling place.

Mbanane is a hub for great day trips. Unfortunately the city centry suffers from headache inducing congestion. Particularly during the morning and evening rush hours and lunch times.
